We welcome to an excellent 2 kilometer (1.2 miles in freedom units) loop at the base of Arrowhead Mountain within the Thunderbird Conservation Park in Northwest Glendale. \n\n\n\nIt’s our pleasure to bring a fixed time race to this beautiful and under-explored park in the Northwest Valley. \n\n\n\nCourse DescriptionThis race utilizes the Flatlander loop on the Southwest Corner of 55th Avenue and Pinnacle Peak. The loop itself has a very modest 25ft of elevation gain. The vast majority of the loop is single or double track. For the most part it is very smooth and runnable with sections on the north and south sides that have had varying degrees of soil erosion due to rains. \n\n\n\nThe terrain is fast and runnable making Flatlander an amazing place to go test your speed\, run a PR distance or come hangout with some amazing community for a stellar Saturday long run! \n\n\n\nCourse Marking: \n\n\n\nGiven the nature of this loop course marking will be minimal\, however we will offer orange course ribbons. These ribbons will always be located to your left! Be on the lookout! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAid StationsWe will have a centralized aid station located at the Start/Finish line near the parking lot. We will provide snacks\, gels\, hydration\, water and ice. Given that this is a fixed time event it’s a great opportunity to play with your own gear or nutrition for whatever your next race is – so plan accordingly! \n\n\n\nWe are offering a Crew/Runner zone immediately adjacent to the aid station. If you’re out here for the long haul feel free to bring a chair\, a cooler\, or whatever you need to be comfortable. \n\n\n\nWe are a cupless race\, so please bring your own cup/bottle whatever your vessel of choice is. \n\n\n\nKey Details– Date: March 21st\, 2026– Start Time: 3 hour and 6 hour @ 8:00 AM – Location: Thunderbird Conservation Park– Packet Pickup: Race morning 7:00 – 7:45 AM– Awards: Top 3 overall M/F per time category– Refunds/Transfers: No refunds– Rules: Headphones discouraged; no pacers; leashed dogs/pets prohibited; follow Leave No Trace \n\n\n\nParking: \n\n\n\nThe City of Glendale has graciously endowed us with about 50% of the parking space available at the trailhead.
